Literacy centers are designated stations that consist of activities to help students independently meet a literacy goal. With young learners instant feedback and engaging activities are critical to keep students on track when working independently. Many teachers struggle with balancing appropriate screen time and still emphasizing skills that are essential for the development of emergent readers and writers. In this session Mia will show you how to integrate ipads and literacy centers in ways that target specific literacy skills (phonics, word recognition, phonemic awareness, fluency) while demonstrating easy techniques to both manage devices and centers.
